Surestop and Cruden Instil Best Practice Water Control into New Builds
Monday 26th March 2018
Surestop, the UK’s leading manufacturer of water control solutions, was specified and installed on a new housing development in Glasgow, with the intention to improve residents control of water in their homes.
The prominent building contractor, Cruden, who have a strong 50-year track record in the provision of building and maintenance solutions, were appointed the main contractor for a new residential development in Lennoxtown, Glasgow and as part of that project, installed Surestop water control valves into each property’s plumbing system.
With the support of Jim McGinty, Surestop’s Sales Manager for Scotland, the Plumbing Contracts team at Cruden, led by John Cochran have been successfully fitting and recommending Surestop products on many construction and refurbishment projects across northern UK.
Jim comments, “From Cruden’s extensive experience in plumbing, they know Surestop water valves are safer, easily accessible to the homeowner and a more reliable solution compared with a brass valve or stopcock. They recognise that Surestop are trying to encourage best practice plumbing in the construction sector, by installing our innovative water control valves, as part of a new build plumbing system or during a kitchen and bathroom renovation”.
Jim goes onto note, “when we invest so much money into our homes, why wouldn’t you want to ensure it includes a solution that immediately stops the water in the event of a leak and provides protection. In the UK this winter, there are so many homes that have experienced leaks from burst pipes and would have benefited from the instant control of water that a Surestop valve provides”.
Manufactured to instantly and easily control water, Surestop products simply stop the water supply with a flick of a switch – without the use of batteries and electrics – and instead, innovatively use the water pressure to shut-off the supply. They are also limescale resistant and won’t seize up, unlike brass alternatives.
With versions for new build and refurbishment, the Surestop valves can be quickly installed onto the pipework and in most cases with a discreet, remote switch for ease of usability.
John Cochrane commented, “we have always been impressed with the Surestop water valves, they’re of a really high quality and a great safety measure for every home. We’ve had a good relationship with Jim and couldn’t believe the speed of service and back-up support Surestop provide”.
