Luxury estate benefits from high quality below ground drainage
Polypipe has supplied below ground drainage products within a groundworks contract worth £2.3 million, for a new housing development of 98 homes.
Doncaster-based luxury home developer, Albemarle Homes, is adding 98 new, high-specification houses within the village of Kirk Sandall on the outskirts of Doncaster. A selection of two, three and four bedroom homes are being built close to a landmark historic church and the local canal network.
The development, called Grove Farm spans an area of 2.7 hectares, and the homes are being constructed in two phases. Each section of the development required new foul and surface water drainage systems to serve the estate and to connect it to the new service mains.
Polypipe, which also has a large manufacturing base in Kirk Sandall, was able to supply a wide range of below ground drainage products, including pipework and manhole access chambers. Polypipe supplied products for each housing plot within a groundworks contract to the value of £1.3 million and roads and sewers drainage systems worth £1.33 million throughout the course of the project.
Polysewer, the PVCu structured wall pipes, was supplied in a range of diameters from 150mm to 300mm to meet the different requirements of the project. Inspection chambers were also supplied for use across the development, as they can be constructed within one metre of the plot boundary of each house. Polypipe inspection chambers can be adopted by the sewage undertaker and can be adopted by UK water companies under the new Sewers Code for Adoption.
The Grove Farm schemes will be completed in December 2020.
